Orange cap for Hayden, Purple for Kumble

Matthew Hayden and Anil Kumble became the first holder of Orange and Purple caps in the Indian Premier League's (IPL) second season.

Chennai Super Kings' Hayden is currently the leading scorer in the tournament with 109 runs in two matches. The Australian scored a blistering 65 off 35 balls against Bangalore Royal Challengers here Monday to follow up his 44 runs in the first match against Mumbai Indians.

Rahul Dravid of Royal Challengers is the second in the batsmen list with 86 runs in two matches.

Veteran leg spinner Anil Kumble of Royal Challengers is the highest wicket-taker after two matches with five wickets, all coming against defending champions Rajasthan Royals.

Deccan Chargers' bowling star, R.P. Singh is second in the overall bowling list for his four wickets in one match.

The DLF IPL Orange cap is given to the highest aggregate run scorer and is worn by the batsman on the field. The Purple cap is awarded to the bowler with the most cumulative wickets.

The holder of the Orange cap at the end of the season will be called the 'Winner of Orange Cap 2009'. Kings XI Punjab's Australian recruit Shaun Marsh got the cap for his 616 runs in 11 matches in the inaugural tournament.

The holder of the Purple cap will be called the 'Winner of the Purple Cap 2009'. Pakistani left arm pacer Sohail Tanveer won the award for his 22 wickets in 10 games.
