Karachi: The ministry of interior affairs has ordered action against the foreign airlines which brought former Australian batsman Dean Jones to Islamabad from Dubai without a valid visa.

A statement from the ministry quoted interior minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan as saying that action would be taken against all those foreign carriers which violate the immigration laws of Pakistan.

The ministry statement negates the tweets of Jones who claimed he had a valid visa but incomplete documents to land in Pakistan. Jones was deported on Sunday morning by the immigration authorities at the Benazir Bhutto international airport after he landed from Dubai.

Jones reached Islamabad for the Players' draft of the Pakistan Super League as he has been appointed head coach of the Islamabad franchise. Despite his efforts to contact the Pakistan Board and Islamabad franchise Jones was deported to Dubai.
