Pakistan opt to bat in opening Test against England

Pakistan won the toss and opted to bat first in the first Test of the three-match series against England, here at Sheikh Zayed Stadium on Tuesday


Abu Dhabi: Pakistan won the toss and opted to bat first in the first Test of the three-match series against England, here at Sheikh Zayed Stadium on Tuesday.

Yasir Shah has been ruled out of the series after suffering a back injury during a training session . Right-arm seamer Imran Khan replaced Yasir in the eleven-man squad.

Meanwhile, all-rounder Shoaib Malik has been recalled to the Pakistan Test team after a five-year gap.

On the England side, Steven Finn was ruled out of the squad due to a left-foot injury.

Besides the three Tests, Pakistan will also play four ODIs and three T20s against England.

Pakistan squad: Mohammad Hafeez, Shan Masood, Shoaib Malik, Younis Khan, Misbah-ul-Haq (captain), Asad Shafiq, Sarfraz Ahmed¿, Wahab Riaz, Zulfiqar Babar, Rahat Ali, Imran Khan

England squad: Alastair Cook(captain ), Moeen Ali, Ian Bell, Joe Root, Jonny Bairstow, Ben Stokes, Jos Buttler , Adil Rashid, Stuart Broad, Mark Wood, James Anderson.
