IF Younis Khan and his boys impressed everyone in the Lord's dressing room with their footwork, after winning the ICC World Twenty20 final against Sri Lanka, it didn't come without some practice.

The players benefited from a dance exercise they had on the eve of their departure to London.

"On the eve of the team's departure for the World Twenty20, we did an exercise called 'rock and roll' to show that we will support each other and interact with the world around with dignity, values and responsibility," Pakistan team's psychologist and hypnotist Maqbool 'Max' Babri said from Lahore.

"The team had a burning desire to win the trophy. The players were asked to manage time, follow team rules and act as one unit.

"Concepts such as values, ethics, respect, tolerance and diversity were also discussed and explored. We did team hypnosis in the group where all team members were nudged into a trance. They were urged to understand and visualise themselves being at their best. It happened naturally and effortlessly," said Babri.

That was not all. "I conducted a workshop where I invited each team player to express loudly, boldly and passionately the importance and need of everyone else in the team and how he perceived that he is the asset that will contribute to the success of the team. This created great synergy and real deep sense of buoyancy."
