Rizvi Springfield (Bandra) skipper Prithvi Shaw led from the front as his school booked a semifinal berth in the Harris Shield Elite Division with a victory over MD Bhatia (Ghatkopar) by an innings and 131 runs in a third round match at Cross Maidan yesterday.
Prithvi, known for his batting prowess, produced a seven-wicket haul with his off-spin to restrict MD Bhatia to just 99 in their first innings. Asked to follow-on, the Ghatkopar-based school was once again shot out for just 65, thanks to seamer Hyder Mallik's haul of 5-12 in seven overs. Rizvi Springfield were earlier bowled out for 295 on Tuesday.

"Having won the Giles Shield trophy last season, I want to win the Harris Shield title as captain. I am still a batsman, and want to score runs. My bowling is only an added bonus to the team," the 13-year-old told MiD DAY.
Prithvi is keen on using the bat gifted to him by Sachin Tendulkar in his school's semi-final showdown with old foe Shardashram (Marathi). "I have scored only one century in the Harris Shield so far. I have a special bat, which I save for important matches. It was gifted to me by my idol Sachin Tendulkar. Every time I play with that bat, I have scored a century. I hope that it (the bat) will help me recreate the magic in the semis," added the Santacruz resident.
Meanwhile, IES Raja Shivaji's (Dadar) all-rounder Laxman Manjrekar scalped seven I E S Secondary School (Mulund) wickets to help their team win by 354 runs.
