The new entrants restricted Punjab to 112-8 with Alfonso Thomas (2-27) and Shrikanth Wagh (3-16) doing the damage.
Jesse Ryder (31), Mithun Manhas (35), Robin Uthappa (22 not out) and Yuvraj Singh (21 not out) all contributed with the bat to complete the chase in just 13.1 overs.
Kings XI Punjab scored 112 for eight. Ryan McLaren scored an unbeaten 51 after Kings XI Punjab were struggling at 45-6. Shrikant Wagh took three wickets and Alfonso Thomas two. Wagh was declared the man of the match.
