Rahul Dravid, the second highest run-getter in Test history, is likely to announce his retirement at the end of the ongoing fourth and final Test match against Australia here at the Adelaide Oval, it is reliably learnt.

"After the day's play, Dravid had a brief chat with coach Duncan Fletcher and some of his teammates. He is very unhappy with the way he's getting out. It is most likely that he will call it a day after this tour of Australia. He was hoping to get one more big score... but India is not playing a Test match till next September.

So, he is starting to think that it's time up.

"But, he might wait till going back to India to make the announcement. He's been on calls with his friends and relatives from back home since coming back from the ground," the source said.

In the four-Test series in Australia, Dravid has been bowled on seven occasions (once off a no-ball).

Yesterday, Dravid reached out to a wide and full ball from Ryan Harris and was caught at gully. The stalwartu00a0 has been lacking fluency in his footwork. Since his back foot hasn't moved as smoothly, there's a gap being created between bat and pad while he's looking to drive the ball.

After being on the field for all of the first day when Australia piled on 335-3, Dravid hit the nets after stumps. That was another indication that Dravid was contemplating hanging the bat - even before the start of the Adelaide Test.u00a0

Dravid had however finished 2011 as the leading run-getter in Test cricket with 1,145 runs.
