Bad weather on Wednesday hampered Sri Lanka's preparation for the upcoming Test series against India as the first day's play of their three-day match against Board President's XI was called off due to persistent rains.
Heavy rains left the ground in unplayable conditions and umpires decided to call off the first day's proceedings.
This three-day match is the only opportunity for the Lankans to get match-practice before the start of the three Test Series, beginning November 16 at Ahmedabad.
The other two matches are scheduled to be played at Kanpur (November 24-28) and Mumbai (December 2-6).
