Lalchand Rajput, chairman of the subcommittee for the Mumbai Cricket Association's (MCA) indoor academy at Bandra Kurla Complex, is ready for any explanation the association asks for with regards to his comments to this newspaper.

The MCA in its Managing Committee meeting on Friday decided to issue a showcause notice to Rajput, who was unhappy over the delay in appointment of support staff at the indoor academy. "
We will ask him to explain his comments in the media about the indoor academy," said Nitin Dalal, MCA's joint secretary.
Rajput, however, said he is yet to receive the showcause notice from the MCA. "I haven't got anything like that (show cause notice) from the MCA as yet. I will reply to it accordingly once I receive it," said Rajput yesterday.
The former India cricketer had revealed to MiD DAY about the sorry state of MCA's R 20 crore state-of-the-art indoor academy since last nine months.
"The academy is non-existent at the moment. Players come and practice. There is no one to guide them and help them improve their skills," a furious Rajput had told MiD DAY on February 4.
"Being a cricketer, it hurts when such magnificent facilities are lying idle. It is high time the MCA gives priority to cricketing activities over other things," he had remarked.
