Sri Lankan players have been banned from eating biscuits in the dressing room, team manager Asanka Gurusinha revealed yesterday. Speaking from Sri Lanka about rumours that said he had a heated argument with some players, who broke crockery to protest the recent ban, the manager said: "Our physio and trainer are in charge of what food players eat while the game is going on. They have banned biscuits in the changing room. The other day there were biscuits in the changing room and I informed the catering staff to take them out as our trainer did not want the players to eat them. There was absolutely no argument with any player or support staff on this issue. In fact, the players were not even aware that biscuits were kept there.
"When the players heard about this rumour, they told me not to worry. They all have supported me," Gurusinha added. Gurusinha also dismissed rumours of his resignation. "All these rumours are not true," he said. Sources in the Sri Lanka board confirmed that Gurusinha has not been asked to leave and has been contracted till 2019.
