India's top ranked woman tennis player Sania Mirza lost to Flavia Pennetta of Italy 6-0, 6-0 in a second round match of the US Open on Wednesday.
Pennetta, the world no 10, demolished Sania in just 50 minutes to set up a third-round clash with French 17th seed Amelie Mauresmo or Aleksandra Wozniak of Canada.
The pair met five times in the past, with Pennetta leading three to two
In the first round on Monday, Sania Mirzau00a0 produced a battling display to beat Olga Govortsova of Belarus 6-2, 3-6, 6-3.
