Former India batsman Sanjay Manjrekar was caught in a rather tight spot on social media yesterday. Commentator Manjrekar indicated on Twitter that he has been ignored for the upcoming India vs Australia series by the host broadcasters (Star India) and was displeased about it.

Nevertheless, he was quick to delete the tweet. However, active social media enthusiasts (one of them being former IPL chief Lalit Modi) were quick to grab a screenshot of the tweet and post it later in the day.

Manjrekar's tweet which was addressed to IPL CEO Sunder Raman read: "Sundar, I have now been kicked off from studio for Ind / Aus by Star. Don't you think this is a bit harsh. I have a contract with them".u00a0

Later in the day, Manjrekar, once again on Twitter, admitted that one of his earlier tweets had created a buzz. He wrote: "A tweet that I deleted immediately has become a bit of a talking point. It was a segment of a private chat that erroneously got onto twitter."

Manjrekar was part of the commentary team in the recently concluded Champions League T20 that was won convincingly by Mumbai Indians.u00a0
