The Kurla lad was removed from the camp on disciplinary grounds, it is learnt. The authorities allege that Sarfaraz often "misbehaved in the camp; would disobey the coaches' instructions and purposely play the pull shot against their orders."
Chairman of the MCA indoor academy, Lalchand Rajput, however refused to comment on the issue and Anil Joshi, the academy's manager, did not respond to phone calls.
Sarfaraz (16) shot to fame when he scored a record-breaking 439 on his Harris Shield debut in 2009 for Rizvi Springfield (Bandra). His schoolmate Armaan Jaffer (498), nephew of India Test opener Wasim, later broke the record in 2010.
Incidentally, Sarfaraz, who made it to the Wisden Cricketers' Almanack 2012 alongwith his younger brother Musheer, recently returned from England after a month-long stint with Hull Cricket Club in the Yorkshire League.
Baroda's Akshay Brahmbhatt and Delhi's Nitin Tanwar were the others picked with Sarfaraz to train in the United Kingdom, where the organisers are said to have lavished praise on the conduct of the trio.u00a0
