Though it was happy ending for Kolkata Knight Riders after their 32-run victory over hosts Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League match on Wednesday night, it wasn't for KKR co-owner Shah Rukh Khan.
The Bollywood star landed in trouble for allegedly abusing Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) officials including some managing committee members and security staff at the Wankhede Stadium after the match that virtually sealed KKR's playoff berth.
It is learnt that Shah Rukh entered the field with around 40 kids who he probably wanted to play cricket with. When security objected, he started hurling abuse.
An MCA official, who witnessed the ugly episode after the presentation ceremony, told MiD DAY: "Shah Rukh Khan started using abusive language... f''' you BCCI, MCA and stuff like that. He abused MCA's managing committee members. He also pushed our security people and made a big mess out there."
MCA treasurer Ravi Savant, who was also allegedly abused by Shah Rukh, is planning to lodge an official complaint to the Board of Control for Cricket in India. "Yes it is true - all that happened. We are now lodging an official complaint to the Board asking to ban Shah Rukh Khan from entering the Wankhede Stadium," said Savant.
Later in the night MCA lodged a complaint at the Marine Drive police station
KKR's team spokesperson Joy Bhattacharya did not respond to telephone calls.
