Shahid Afridi's remarks about other teams indulging in ball-tampering too could land him in deeper trouble with the International Cricket Council.

Although Afridi apologised to the nation for his actions, he insisted that other teams also indulge in ball-tampering through various methods. When asked to explain this claim, Afridi said he didn't want to create any controversy but everyone knew what he was talking about. "It is a general statement and nothing more. Don't create more problems for me," he said.

Kamran or Malik?
The PCB is now expected to ask Kamran Akmal or Shoaib Malik to lead the team in the T20 international against Australia on February 5.

Pakistan's former captain, Aamir Sohail told MiD-DAY that the Afridi incident just highlighted the urgent need to have a media manager with the team so that he could guide the players and officials on how to interact with the media.

Afridi was upset when television channels contacted him in Australia for his comment. When a television anchor asked him whether he realised how much shame his action had brought on the nation, Afridi remarked angrily: "I have apologised! What more can I do. I did it for the team and nation," he said.
