Double centurion Ronak Shinde wants to end Shardashram Vidyamandir's disappointing run in Harris Shield
Shardashram Vidyamandir Marathi (Dadar) skipper Ronak Shinde salvaged the school's poor recent record in the Harris Shield Elite Decision with a cracking double century (225 off 149 balls) against Lilavatibai Podar (SC) on Day One of the third round played at Cross Maidan yesterday.

Shardashram, knocked out early for the last three yearsu00a0 from the prestigious tournament, are treaded a step forward to returning to winning ways. "The Shardashram tag inspires us to perform better as Sachin Tendulkar represented our school. I felt sad that we were unable to make it to the semis for the last three years. Now that we are just an innings closer to achieving that dream, I want to make sure we do it in style," Ronak told MiD DAY.
But the Dockyard Road lad who bats at number four is disappointed that he couldn't keep the promise made to his coach Naresh Churi of slamming a triple ton. "Churi Sir had promised me a surprise gift (if I scored 300). As I couldn't complete that feat today, I hope to do that in the semi-final match against Rizvi Springfield. But I am glad that as promised our assistant coach Ajinkya Kamble will buy me a new pair of gloves and a bat," added Ronak.
Shardashram were bowled out for 381. In reply, Lilavatibai Podar scored 59 for the loss of four wickets at stumps.
