The presence of opener Shikhar Dhawan at the top would strengthen the inconsistent batting line-up of Hyderabad Sunrisers, according to mentor Krishnamachari Srikkanth.
"The best news for us is that Shikhar Dhawan is back and will be playing his first match this season. It will be a big boost to our batting strength and we are confident of even chasing totals in excess of 190," Srikkanth said ahead of their clash against Chennai Super Kings here tonight.
Dhawan, who scored a blistering 187 on his Test debut against Australia, was out of action with a fractured knuckle and will be playing against heavyweights Chennai assured the former India captain and chief national selector, who was reluctant to make comparisons between the two teams. "We do not wish to be compared with other teams. All teams play to their strength. We are hopeful of getting in to the semi-finals. That's our first target," said Srikkanth.
He also backed the decision to drop regular skipper Kumar Sangakkara for Quinton de Kock. "He (De Kock) is a swashbuckling batsman. He has played only a couple of games and you cannot judge him on basis of that. He has had a terrific T20 season in South Africa," he said. u00a0
