Pesi Shroff, champion trainer of last Mahalaxmi season who has only 3 winners from 24 runners saddles so far this season, has made a serious bid to surge ahead by saddling as many as seven runners in Thursday's 10-race card, of which five have more than a fair chance of landing the spoils in their respective races. His best appears to be Argentina, an unlucky loser last time out, who will surely make amends in the Splendid Role Plate.
The feature event, Governor's Cup, looks wide open what with 15 three-year-olds in the fray, and Arts, trained by CD Katrak and to be ridden by David Allan, is expected to put up a bold show on his debut.
