Recently, he had re-opened the controversial "slapgate" episode of 2008 that saw spinner Harbhajan slap the Kerala speedster after an IPL match and had called Harbhajan "a backstabber," in a series of tweets. He later deleted the tweets.
Shantakumaran later retracted from his allegation that Dhoni and Harbhajan.
She said she did not want to blame anybody until the details of the plot were out.
"Now I just want to say that my son is not a person who runs after money. This is very clear since he has turned down many offers from the film world as he is totally devoted to cricket, which is his life. He will never betray cricket."
Sreesanth's brother-in-law Madhu Balakrishnan said that the pacer would never indulge in such an act and it was totally false.
"He will be the last person to do such a thing," he said.
Savithridevi said the entire family will support Sreesanth.
"We are all totally convinced that he is innocent. God knows everything and my son will come out clean," she said.
She also said her family members would be leaving for Delhi to help Sreesanth during the case.
"Totally wrong. (M S) Dhoni did not tuck the towel in his trousers."
This was how Delhi Police Commissioner Neeraj Kumar responded to a question on the allegation of the family of Sreesanth, the cricketer arrested for alleged spot-fixing in an IPL match, that Dhoni and spinner Harbhajan Singh trapped him due to personal grudge.
Kumar was referring to the signal Sreesanth allegedly gave to bookies before bowling the "manipulated" over to counter the charges by the family. He said no family will accept complicity by one of the its members in a crime.
