London: Former India captain Sunil Gavaskar, who escaped unhurt in a serious car accident on Sunday afternoon, received numerous phone calls yesterday with everyone wanting to know whether he is fine.

mid-day had broken the story yesterday, and Gavaskar assured all his well wishers that he is safe.
