Australian fast bowler Shaun Tait yesterday bowled the fastest ball in India while playing for Rajasthan Royals against Delhi Daredevils in their Indian Premier League (IPL) match at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium.
Tait generated raw pace and clocked 157.7 kmph in the very first over and played a crucial role in Royals' six-wicket win over Daredevils.
The fast bowler had bowled his fastest ball in Australia last year, recording 160.7 kmph during an ODI match against Pakistan.
Viru dares Delhi
Delhi Daredevils captain Virender Sehwag said his batsmen have to deliver after the team suffered its second successive loss in the Indian Premier League (IPL) here yesterday.
Opting to bat first, Daredevils made a poor start at 36/4 and it were half-centuries from Venugopal Rao and David Warner that took the team to 151/6 in 20 overs.
The score was not enough as Rajasthan Royals achieved the target with nine balls to spare.
"Venu and Warner batted really well. They hit some awesome shots. It was a decent total but Rajasthan played really well. I have to score runs in the coming games. The bowling is still good, we need to concentrate on our batting," said Sehwag.
