Tendulkar's preparation does not mean hitting lots of balls in the nets

Sachin Tendulkar never misses a chance to pull out the praise brush for current India coach Gary Kirsten.

Yesterday was no different. "We work together and he (Kirsten) has really worked hard for the team andu00a0 brought everyone together. His contribution has been immense," Tendulkar said at a Joy of Giving promotional event yesterday.

Kirsten is India's third foreign coach after John Wright (2001 to 2005) and Greg Chappell (2005 to 2007).

Tendulkar also spoke about his preparation. "The process of getting better never stops. That's what I feel when I get up every morning and that's the reason I get out there in the middle. You want to get better as a player," he said.

"If I feel everything is in order then there is no need to do something that I am not wanting to do. I plan every practice session. I look at the opposition strength and weakness and practice on that.

"Even in the 2003 World Cup I had just one proper net session otherwise it was just throw downs and I was happy with that. As long as I have prepared for the game and given myself the best chance to perform for the game, it's fine," he added.
