Harbhajan Singh cannot thank Sachin Tendulkar, his Mumbai Indians teammate, enough for the faith he showed in his all-round skills. |
Just as he was heading towards the dressing room, MiD DAY spoke to the blossoming all-rounder. "I have let my bat to do the talking. There's nothing else left to say," he said.
"The match is not over. We have to deliver with the ball tomorrow (Tuesday) and try to win the Test. I want to personally thank S Sreesanth for allowing me to get the hundred. He was superb in the middle. I want to dedicate this knock to the almighty," Bhajji added.
Meanwhile, Sachin Tendulkar, who is a close friend of Harbhajan, expressed his delight: "Yes, I am very happy. I always knew he had the talent, and is always improving with the bat. Today, he proved himself," the master batsman said.
Asked if Harbhajan can fill the all-rounder's spot in India's World Cup squad, Tendulkar laughed and said: "A long time back, I told him he had the ability to be a quality all-rounder. Today, everybody else is saying it. I always believed in that," he said.
Sreesanth, who added 105 runs for the last wicket with Harbhajan, provided able support with his knock of 24 runs off 71 balls. "I am very happy for Bhajjipa (Harbhajan). It feels good that he had faith in me, and guided me, and in return, I helped him get the century. Initially, I was a little nervous, but later, I started to enjoy my batting," said Sreesanth.
