Tottenham lead Indian slum teams into World Cup in Brazil

EPL club Tottenham Hotspurs have teamed up with Slum Soccer Krida Vikas Sanstha, Nagpur to take the Indian slum teams for the Homeless World Cup football tournament to be held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil from September 19 to 26.


EPL club Tottenham Hotspurs have teamed up with Slum Soccer Krida Vikas Sanstha, Nagpur to take the Indian slum teams for the Homeless World Cup football tournament to be held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil from September 19 to 26.

India, who will be featuring in the competition for the fourth time in succession, made their debut in the global event in the year 2007 in Copenhagen, and finished in 45th position.

The India men's and women's teams have been training for three months at a camp in Nagpur under coach Ashok Chettri of Bengal, with inputs from International coach and Director of Homeless World Cup, Andy Hookes.
