When Marcus Trescothick arrived in Hyderabad last week to represent Somerset in the Champions League Twenty20, the former England opener was travelling overseas after a gap of more than three-and-a-half years.
After leaving England's tour to India in 2006 due to stress-related illness, Trescothick never toured any other country.
The illness has recurred as Trescothick left for England midway through the Champions League.
In fact, Trescothick was skeptical about his decision to tour after such a long gap. "Getting out of England, it's a huge step for me. I hope it turns out to be okay," he had said last week.
