The victorious Vengsarkar Academy under-13 team
Tushar Singh (78) put on a strong batting display as Vengsarkar Cricket Academy beat Nerul Gymkhana by two wickets to clinch the IDBI Federal Insurance Cup U-13 cricket title at the Dilip Vengsarkar Foundation's Mahul ground.
Batting first, Nerul Gymkhana scored 157 for 7 in 25 overs. Asif Khan (42) and Shlok A (30) were their main contributors, while Aditya Baliwada finished with two for 18 for Vengsarkar Academy.
In reply, left-handed opener Tushar's 69-ball to 78 saw his team achieve the target with one ball to spare. Tushar was adjudged the best batsman as well as man of the series (187 runs in four innings).
