The India U-19 team suffered a humiliating 19-run defeat to Nepal in an Asia Cup encounter at the at Bayuemas Oval in Kuala Lumpur yesterday. After winning the toss and putting the opposition in, the Indian lads restricted Nepal to 185/8 off 50 overs. India's Aditya Thakare and Abhishek Sharma took two wickets each, while Vivekanand Tiwari, Mandeep singh, Shiva Singh and Atharva Taide chipped in with one scalp each. For Nepal, skipper Dipendra Singh's 101-ball 88 was the highlight of the innings.

In reply, the Indian boys got off to a bright start with skipper Himanshu Rana (46) and Manjot Kalra (35) putting on a 65-run opening stand. However, Nepal's skipper wasn't done yet. This time, he excelled with the ball - the medium pacer accounted for four Indian wickets, giving away a miserly 39 runs in his full quota of 10 overs. India were bowled out for 166 runs in 48.1 overs. The India colts began their campaign with a 202-run victory over Malaysia at the Kinrara Academy Oval here on Friday.
