The Professional Footballers' Association (PFA) will send out a 36-page guidebook on handling depression to its 4,000 members in the aftermath of Wales manager Gary Speed's suicide.
According to the Daily Mail, the guidebook, which includes case studies by Andy Cole, Neil Lennon, Stan Collymore, Paul Gascoigne and PFA chairman Clarke Carlisle, is also being made available to 50,000 ex-professionals.
"If nothing else I hope this tragedy can encourage people who need help to not hesitate to ask for it. I want them to know there is a support system in place to understand their concerns and address them," PFA Chief Executive Gordon Taylor said.
Speed, 42, was found hanging at his 1.5 million pound house in Huntington on the outskirts of Chester on November 27.

The 42-year-old had spoken enthusiastically about his team's reviving fortunes on BBC 1's Football Focus programme few hours before his death.
His sudden death has shocked the entire sports fraternity.
Speed made his league debut for Leeds United in May 1989, and represented Leeds United, Everton, Newcastle and Bolton Wanderers during his career.
He is survived by his wife Louise, and two children, Tommy and Ed.
