Virat Kohli
India skipper Virat Kohli said yesterday his players don't feel threatened because of his chop-and-change policy and called it "quite a bizarre thought to have", taking a dig at those questioning the trend.
Kohli has made 37 changes in 37 Tests as captain and that trend looks set to continue when India meet England in a must-win third Test here today. "I don't think anyone is thinking like that. These are just things that are created on the outside and people like to make a lot [out] of nothing. For us, the priority is to win games. We are not thinking whether someone's career is on the line or what's going to happen to their future," Kohli said. "We need to focus on this Test and not think about whether someone's career is on the line. It's quite a bizarre thought to have," he added.
Virat Kohli has been the only Indian batsman to make a mark in the ongoing Test series versus England so far, scoring 149 runs and 51 runs in the two innings of the Edgbaston Test. In the Lord's Test however, he could not make a difference with the bat and was criticised for replacing Umesh Yadav with spinner Kuldeep Yadav on a seam-friendly pitch. India lost the Lord's Test by an innings and 159 runs, going 0-2 down in the five-match Test series.
