Politicians looking to score some easy points with people in Mumbai recently renamed Elphinstone Road railway station on the Western Railway as Prabhadevi. Before that they had decided to rechristen the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport and the Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus by add the word ‘Maharaj'. And before that it was the proposed Oshiwara station which was renamed 'Ram Mandir' even before the station could be inaugurated.

But Mumbai isn't the only city to suffer so. Delhi had in September 2016 seen The Race Course Road, where the Prime Minister's official residence is located, renamed Lok Kalyan Marg. Gurgaon had been renamed Gurugram in April. In West Bengal, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee saw to it that West Bengal is on its way to becoming 'Bengal'.

Well, all this is part of the name game that politicians play by changing the names of roads or flyovers or stations or states and cities.

Former India opener Virender Sehwag is a true sportsman. So how could be resist joining in this game of renaming.

On Friday, Viru showed his usual wit on Twitter by suggesting a new name for current India Test team captain Virat Kohli.

The 38-year-old former cricketer decided that the in-form Kohli deserved a new name to go with his dynamic performances.

Kohli is having a 'virat' year. The Delhi lad has scored 2580 runs from 36 international matches this year. He has been man the man of the match 8 times and man of the series twice. He has scored three double hundreds this year. He has also scored his career best 235 in a Test and led India to their fifth successive series win. Under his leadership, the team also equalled the record of the longest unbeaten streak by an Indian team.

Viru, who is nowadays popular as the 'King of Twitter' or 'Nawab of Twitter', tipped his hat to the youngster in his own style. The former explosive batsman compared the 28-year-old Indian Test team skipper with clouds. He suggested that like the clouds, Kohli is omnipresent and so he should put an ad in the newspapers and rechristen himself.

Sehwag tweeted, "Kohli ko paper me name change Ad daalna chahiye. He should call himself Badal ,aka Cloud. Har waqt Badal ki tarah Chaaye rehte hain,Kohli!"

While we don't think Virat would want to change his name to 'Badal', his opponents would agree that when Virat gets going he can be like dark clouds and rain on the opposition's parade.

Is Sehwag planning to join the ranks of politicians anytime soon? While, we don't have an answer to that, all we can say is he would be among the wittiest ones in India.
