Kolkata: Thanks to another case of administrative inefficiency, West Indies captain Darren Sammy found himself without a vehicle to take him back to his hotel on Saturday afternoon after addressing the media at Eden Gardens.

Firstly, Sammy had to walk down four floors from the media conference area to the main entrance of the Cricket Association of Bengal. The only solace for Sammy not availing of the elevator facility was that he spotted a photo frame of Sir Frank Worrell on the way down and got a photograph shot alongside it.
When he reached the ground floor, he discovered there was no car for him to return to Taj Bengal.
The embarrassing situation led to this writer requesting Arvik Sarkar, the brand manager of Oppo, one of the ICC's sponsors, to give Sammy a lift. Sarkar was only too happy to oblige and that's how the West Indies captain reached his destination.
