League stressed the similarities between Indians and Australians.


"I think it is atrocious what is going on with Indian students," Warne said. "We have so much in common. Our cultures have a great love of cricket, music, families, good friends and strong communities. "We are all human beings; let's move forward together and rise above this."

A senate hearing was told the nation's top cricketers could help repair damage done to Australia's reputation as a safe place. "Do not underestimate the value of cricket in possibly mending these relationships," Senator Back said. He added Australia was the second-favourite destination for Indian students after America.

A street cricket match involving Indian students and Victorian police officers was cancelled yesterday. The match was initiated by Cricket Victoria but the students were too upset to play following an attack on a 21-year-old Indian nursing student.Warne slams racist attacks on Indian students
