At the cost of sounding arrogant, Ireland's star batsman Kevin O'Brien has fired a warning to the West Indies ahead of today's World Cup match. "We have beaten the West Indies before and we can do it again," said O'Brien whose century saw the Irish register one of the biggest upsets of the ongoing World Cup against England recently.u00a0
With two points in their bag, Ireland now need two wins from their last three games to make a surprise appearance in the last eight of the tournament. According to O'Brien, the Irish had targeted wins against Bangladesh, West Indies and Holland before the tournament, but after losing to Bangladesh, the win over England has got them back on track.
"A few months ago I think we'd have taken one win from our first three. We had the Bangladesh game down as one to win and we should have, but they fought back well. But we came back in a big way with the win over England. We need two more wins now from three but we have two points already after some very tough games and there's no reason why we can't get four more," added O'Brien.
