We should have won this game: MS Dhoni

Despite celebrating a 3-2 series win, India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni was disappointed with his side's batting yesterday

"It was a tight series overall but we should have won this game," he said.

"It was not really the amount of runs we should have put on the board. Had we batted slightly more sensibly, we would have scored 30-35 more runs, but it is a young side and you learn from your mistakes."

Dhoni admitted that death bowling continues to haunt India. "Thankfully, in three games, we didn't have to bowl those death overs. It remains an area of concern. Ishant was a big positive, he bowled really well throughout the series," he said.

"Fielding is a big positive. (Ravindra) Jadeja's form solves the all-rounder problem to an extent too," he added.

MSD defends Gambhir
Dhoni defended out-of-form Gautam Gambhir, saying that the Delhi left-hander was going through a lean patch. "Gambhir is an experienced player. I believe he has batted a bit better in the last few games. Unlike some of the earlier matches, he didn't look tentative and was a lot more decisive about stroke-making."
The 31-year-old scored 127 runs in the five-match ODI series.u00a0
