Wenger not concerned by Arsenal's TV critics

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger says he does not mind that some television pundits have written off his side's chances of going the distance in this season's Premier League title race.

The London club lead the English top flight by four points after 13 matches, as they bid to end a nine-year wait for the league crown.

Former Liverpool defender Alan Hansen and former Newcastle United striker Alan Shearer, both pundits on BBC's 'Match of the Day' highlights programme, have claimed that Arsenal will struggle to maintain their early-season form.

However, while Wenger admits that he occasionally watches the programme, he says that the opinions expressed on it do not necessarily carry weight.

"Sometimes I watch it, sometimes not," the Frenchman said, ahead of his side's home game with 10th-placed Hull City later on Wednesday.

"I have enough experience to analyse what we do and how well we play. I don't need someone else to tell me. I'm not upset by that at all.

"I take anything from anybody. I just try to analyse whether he has a point or not. Sometimes it's just someone saying their opinion without an argument on something that makes sense."
