West Indies fast bowler Jerome Taylor has been charged with disorderly conduct following a barroom scuffle in Jamaica.

Police sergeant Clifford Evans says Taylor became abusive after the proprietor was told to close the bar because it was past an 11 pm cutoff.

Assault
Evans said Taylor assaulted him when he tried to place the 25-year-old in handcuffs shortly after midnight Thursday.

He was charged with using indecent language, resisting arrest, improper conduct and assaulting a police officer. He was released on $230 bond and scheduled to appear in court January 12.

Taylor made his Test debut against Sri Lanka in 2003 and has taken 82 wickets. He is also a capable lower-order batsman with a highest score of 106 against New Zealand.
