It's well known that Yuvraj Singh likes to play hard and party hard. On Saturday, the World Cup winner displayed another aspect of his personality when he announced a financial assistance of Rs One lakh to women's athlete Arunima Sinha who lost her leg in tragic circumstances earlier this week.

Arunima, a national level football and volleyball player, was reportedly thrown off a moving train when she resisted three men who tried to snatch her chain and her left leg was run over by another train on the parallel track near Bareilly on Monday.

"What happened to Arunima was really unfortunate and tragic. She must be a brave sportsperson to fight the robbers. I know the loss is irreparable, but I would like to offer her this little contribution of one lakh rupees," the Player of the World Cup said in a statement issued by 'Yuvraj Singh Foundation', according to PTI.

"I wish her a speedy recovery and in future if I could be of some help, she can always contact me," he added.
