Yuvraj recovered from a life-threatening rare germ cell cancer. "On the field! I just expect to enjoy the moment and hopefully lot of awareness will spread through you we can today!," he tweeted. Yuvraj was seen in India colours at a game for the first time since November 2011 as he hoped to play Saturday's Twenty game against NZ here, but the match was washed out.

He thanked people involved in his recovery. "Few hours to go till I wear my favourite jersey. To my mom, my friends, my fans this would not have been possible. Thanks for your love and courage. Through various channels from Dr Ian Horn to a layman every one has been an important person in my comeback! Thanks to BCCI and NCA for getting me back," he added.
The Telegraph newspaper in Kolkata quoted him as saying, "I wasn't the first person to be diagnosed with cancer, so I couldn't ask God âwhy me'?"
