Even as the Wankhede Stadium, situated a few miles away from the MCA's ground at BKC was bidding an emotional farewell to Sachin Tendulkar, Mumbai were engaged in a tantalising tussle with Delhi in their third Ranji Trophy league game.

And so intense was the battle that both teams ended their first innings on 324. Veteran pacer Zaheer Khan claimed 5-88 in 25.4 overs and was instrumental in keeping a check on the visitors after Mithun Manhas had scored 113 for them.

At stumps on Saturday, Mumbai were coasting along at 198-2 with wicketkeeper Aditya Tare unbeaten on 115.
