Bulawayo: Zimbabwe routed Afghanistan in the first one-day international in Bulawayo, winning by eight wickets in quick time.

Zimbabwe batsman Craig Ervine (R) and wicket keeper Mohammad Shahzad Mohammadi take part in the first game in a series of five One Day Internationl (ODI) cricket matches between Afghanistan and Zimbabwe at Queens Sports Club, in Bulawyo on October 16, 2015.

Afghan captain Asghar Stanikzai opted to bat first but it proved a regrettable decision as his side were toppled for 122. Najibullah and Dawlat Zadran joint top-scored with 25, with four wickets for Wellington Masakadza and three apiece for Luke Jongwe and debutant Tendai Chisoro.

The chase was a formality costing just two wickets, Chamu Chibhabha making 50 and Tinotenda Mutombodzi ending it with a six in just the 24th of a possible 50.
