Veteran West Indies batsman Chris Gayle, Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib al Hasan, and former South Africa captain Faf du Plessis will be playing in the upcoming Caribbean Premier League (CPL) in August-September.
The CPL is scheduled to be held from August 28 to September 19 in St Kitts & Nevis. Gayle will be back with St Kitts & Nevis Patriots, a team he played for in 2017 and 2018. The former West Indies captain guided the Patriots to their only CPL final in his first year with the franchise.
Shakib has joined the Jamaica Tallawahs for the 2021 season. This will be Shakib's third stint with the Tallawahs, having been with the franchise in the 2016 and 2017 seasons. du Plessis will be playing for the St Lucia Zouks this season. This will be du Plessis's second team in the CPL, having played for St Kitts and Nevis Patriots in the 2016 season.
