Meanwhile, KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma turned the tables in India's favour. But, Rahul was later dismissed by David Willey and Rohit threw his wicket in the hands of Liam Livingstone. Adil Rashid dismissed in form Rohit and brought England back into the game.
Ravindra Jadeja and Suryakumar Yadav were the only two players left who were capable of batting in the lower middle order. But Jadeja's wicket left Surya Kumar alone in the middle. English bowlers made a late comeback after struggling to strike wickets in middle overs.
Surya Kumar Yadav's knock of 49 runs helped India to reach a respectable total of 229 runs against England.
So far, Team India is the most successful team in the ICC World Cup 2023 with five wins in all the five matches they have played. Will England be able to break the winning streak of the host nation?
