ICC World Cup 2023, IND vs NZ: Rachin-Mitchell stabilize NZ's batting

Match 21 of the ICC World Cup 2023 between India and New Zealand is being played in Dharmashala's HPCA Stadium. Rohit Sharma after electing to bowl, handed the first over to lead pacer Jasprit Bumrah.

Mohammed Siraj struck the early wicket of the Kiwi's opening batsman Devon Conway. Conway was caught in the hands of Shreyas Iyer for a duck. New Zealand not settling with their first wicket, Mohammed Shami struck the wicket of another opening batsman Will Young.

Young Rachin Ravindra and Daryl Mitchell took responsibility for New Zealand's batting after their early wicket losses. The Kiwis were 34 for two wickets at the end of the first power play.

Rohit Sharma brought spinners in the second power play to slow down New Zealand's inning. But, Rachin Ravindra and Daryl Mitchell smashed two sixes in Kuldeep Yadav's over. Ravindra's catch was dropped by Ravindra Jadeja for 12 runs.

Ravindra completed his half-century in 56 deliveries and continues to bat sensibly for the Kiwis. Accompanying him, Daryl Mitchell is batting steadily and taking New Zealand to a fighting total. Rachin Ravindra is making the most of the opportunity he got after his catch was dropped.

Both complete their 100-run stand in the 24th over. Daryl Mitchell completes his half-century in 60 deliveries. Both look set and stable in the middle.

Indian bowlers, after getting the wickets of the opening batsman, are struggling to dismiss Ravindra and Mitchell.
