Ajinkya Rahane did not shy away from mentioning how much he missed playing IPL matches.
Rahane, who was picked up by Kolkata Knight Riders at his base price of Rs 1 crore, smashed a 33-ball 44 to help chase down 132 quite comfortably against Chennai Super Kings.
In his previous stint with Delhi Capitals, Rahane got just two matches in the last season and got to bat in just one game (v Rajasthan Royals) in which he scored eight runs at the Wankhede Stadium. In the 2020 IPL held in the UAE, Rahane played eight games and scored one half century v RCB.
Rahane was in great touch on Saturday, not averse to play his shots. He also showed his ability to play T20-type strokes. "I am just happy to get game time. In the last couple of IPL seasons, I was not able to get many matches. So, I am just grateful to KKR. My preparation has been good," said Rahane in the post-match virtual media conference.
