Shreyas Iyer and Venkatesh Iyer's unbeaten knock helped Kolkata Knight Riders to win the IPL 2024 qualifier one against Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Narendra Modi Stadium. KKR won the IPL 2024 against SRH by eight wickets.

In the run chase of 160 runs, Kolkata Knight Riders' star all-rounder Sunil Narine scored 21 runs off 16 deliveries including 4 fours. Rahmanullah Gurbaz on the other hand departed after scoring 23 runs in 14 balls. His knock was laced with 2 fours and 2 sixes. After the dismissals of the openers, captain Shreyas Iyer and Venkatesh Iyer took responsibility for the team. Shreyas smashed unbeaten 58 runs off 24 balls including 5 fours and 4 sixes. Facing 28 deliveries, Venkatesh Iyer accumulated 51 runs which were laced with 5 fours and 4 sixes. KKR successfully achieved the target in just 13.4 overs. With this victory, Kolkata Knight Riders have sealed their place in the IPL 2024 finals.
Having opted to bat first in the IPL 2024 qualifier one match against Kolkata Knight Riders, Sunrisers Hyderabad were only able to reach 159 runs. Explosive batting duo, Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma departed early and were not able to continue the momentum. Rahul Tripathi scored 55 runs off 35 deliveries. His knock was laced with 7 fours and 1 sixes. Heinrich Klaasen on the other hand scored 32 runs in 21 balls. Later, skipper Pat Cummins accumulated 30 runs including 2 fours and 2 sixes.

Mitchell Starc shut out the critics who criticised him for his poor performance in the IPL 2024. The pacer grabbed three wickets by conceding 34 runs in four overs. Spinner Varun Charavarthy claimed two wickets for 26 runs. Vaibhav Arora, Sunil Narine, Andre Russell and Harshit Rana registered one wicket each to their names.
