Gujarat Titans (GT) openers, Shubman Gill, Sai Sudharsan and seamer Mohit Sharma ended their sequence of three defeats with a win over Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on Friday night to ensure their "0.1 per cent" chance for a place in the IPL Playoffs stays alive.
When mid-day asked GT skipper Gill what was different in the match against CSK from their last three matches, he said: "The situation that we were given before coming into this match. The chance of us qualifying [for the Playoffs] was 0.1 per cent.

"And I think all of us, all 25-30 of us believed that we can still make it into the Playoffs. I have seen miracles happen with this team in the past couple of years and we all do believe in that," Gill explained of the conviction that motivated GT to post a good 35-run win.

Chasing 232 for victory, CSK started on the wrong foot, losing three wickets in their first 17 balls. Daryl Mitchell (63, 34 balls, 7x4s, 3x6s, 185.29 strike-rate) and Moeen Ali (56, 36 balls, 4x4s, 155.55 strike-rate) put the defending champions on the road to recovery with a 57-ball, 109-run partnership for the fourth wicket.
Veteran pacer Mohit Sharma (5-0-31-3), however, derailed the Yellow Army with his knuckle balls and cross-seam deliveries to take three wickets (Mitchell, Moeen and Shivam Dube) in the middle overs.
CSK head coach Stephen Fleming praised Mohit at the post-match media interaction. "Credit to Mohit. At one point, we were actually on track, and Mohit came in and bowled an outstanding four overs to really stunt it," said Fleming of the crucial stage.
