India’s KL Rahul celebrates his half-century against Bangladesh in Adelaide yesterday
KL Rahul knows exactly what his team wants from him and as long as he is able to do that.
Having logged only 22 runs from the first three T20 World Cup games, it was Rahul's opportunity to do the star turn with one of his better half-centuries (50 off 32 balls) and a magnificent direct throw from the deep that became a turning point in India's five-run victory over Bangladesh. "The team has given me a role and if I'm able to what they want, I can sleep peacefully," the vice-captain said at the post-match conference.

The good thing for Team India in the past four games is that different individuals have contributed to the side's success. "This was an important game. We all wanted to contribute. Today was an opportunity for me to stand up and be counted. Every match, a different person is putting his hand up," Rahul said. Meanwhile, Bangladesh captain Shakib Al Hasan said is team was not experienced enough to handle the tough situation they were in.
"We don't play enough close games, and hence, we don't know how to win those games. Both 185 and the revised target of 151 were acceptable targets. It is unfortunate we didn't win," Shakib said after the heart-breaking defeat.
