The Mumbai Cricket Association's (MCA) Apex Council had a marathon, three-hour meeting at the Wankhede Stadium on Thursday. Most of the time was consumed discussing Mumbai's debacle in the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Trophy recently when the host outfit lost four of their five league games.
Now, it is learnt that the MCA office bearers will meet the Lalchand Rajput-led Cricket Improvement Committee (CIC) next week and decide on the new coach's appointment with Amit Pagnis having resigned from his post recently.
"The MCA office bearers will meet the CIC and discuss the reasons for Mumbai's early ouster in the Mushtaq Ali Trophy. Some of the lapses on the part of the selection committee will also be pointed out. The selection process has to be transparent," said a MCA source.
