MCA’s new apex panel to meet today

The Mumbai Cricket Association's (MCA) new Apex Council will meet today to discuss the development of a 21-acre plot for a cricketing facility land on Ghodbunder Road in Thane.

Graded contracts for Mumbai's senior and women's team will also come up for discussion. "We will take a proposal from the CIC [Cricket Improvement Committee] and will implement it [contract system] as early as possible," Naik told mid-day. A decision on the rain-ravaged Dr HD Kanga Cricket League's remaining division ‘A' and ‘B' games will also be taken.

Meanwhile, Ajinkya Rahane will lead Mumbai in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy knockouts to be played in Kolkata from November 1. Left-arm pacer Royston Dias will replace injured pace bowler Dhawal Kulkarni.
