India vs Pakistan: No rooms, high-priced tickets and a 15-minute media briefing!

The town of Kandy is abuzz with today's India v Pakistan Asia Cup clash. Locals can't wait to get to the ground, but they have literally paid a high prize for their Saturday entertainment at Pallekele. Ditto fans who have flown in from India and Pakistan. More of money talk later.

Accommodation has also been a problem for visiting fans. It is learnt that certain hotels are requesting guests to share with unknown people amidst a No Rooms scenario all over Kandy.

For grass bank spots at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium, locals normally pay 250 Sri Lankan rupees, but for today's India v Pakistan game, the price is Rs 1,000. Seats in luxury boxes cost USD 300 (Rs 24,800).

While the spectators have to cope with lack of hotel rooms and expensive seats, media persons were surprised to hear that the India pre-match press conference would be held for only 15 minutes.
